How to use the Recovery Console(xp)?

This tool is used whenever your windows files corrupted, or when you boot your pc saying "One of windows files needed to boot have been corrupted, To recover it use the Recovery Console".


The steps:

1. Insert your Windows XP CD (if you are using xp, sp1 & sp2).
2. Boot from CD (set it in BIOS SETUP, pressing delete or F2)
3. When first menu appears after you boot to CD, press R(means repair)
4. A EULA will appear, press F8 to agree to its terms and condition.
5. You will see their an option, 1. Windows..
6. Select which windows(if 2 or more) you want to repair, by presing (1,2,3)if only one Press 1 and then press enter
7. A confirmation password(admin) will prompt.. enter your password or press ENTER if none.
8. Then type this chkdsk_/r or chkdsk_/r/fixboot then press enter(_ underscores means space)
9. If you want to see some options type HELP then press enter to see some useful parameters.
10. Wait until it reaches to 100% of checking the disk..
11. After it was completed, type RESTART then enter..

About what?

hp already have built in recovery console.. if it is not yet built in. then dump your pc. hehehe joke. most comps are already built in recovery console..
